Senior Civil Engineer
Location: Ridgefield, NJ
Job Description: Oversee and lead civil engineering projects and supervision of junior and senior engineers. Projects include excavation support design, geotechnical & structural design, subsurface investigations, and field inspections. Specialized duties include, but are not limited to the following: analyzing field investigations; performing fundamental engineering and design calculations by applying soil mechanics, rock mechanics, fluid mechanics, and mathematics; performing geotechnical analyses which includes settlement analysis and consolidation; designing shallow foundations and deep foundations; designing retaining structures and performing data reduction of geotechnical exploration, load test data and geotechnical instrumentation; performing seismic data reduction, geohazard evaluations and liquefaction potential assessment; preparing geotechnical engineering reports, technical memorandums and specifications; performing inspections of subsurface investigations and test soils in laboratory for determining soil; conducting structural analysis, design calculations and drawings for earth-retaining structures as well as structural analysis and design for foundations, including piles, walls, caissons and underpinnings; and overseeing, directing, and mentoring civil engineers performing various entry-level design and civil engineering field tasks.
Additional information:
The minimum degree required is a master’s degree.
Minimum 5 years of experience.
PE License required.
Some limited travel of approximately 10% of time to clients’ work sites.
Salary Range: $130,000 – $160,000 based on experience.
